Dibutyl phthalate is a plasticizer, which has strong solubility to a variety of resins. Mainly used in polyvinyl chloride processing, can give good softness in products. Because of its relatively low price and good processing, it is widely used in China, which is similar to DOP. But volatile and water extraction, so the product durability is poor, should gradually limit its use. It can also be used to manufacture paint, adhesive, artificial leather, printing ink, safety glass, celluloid, dye, insecticide, flavor solvent, fabric lubricant and so on.
